I’m called….....Mrs. Bergner, Janet, Mom, or an OSU fan!!!!
I grew up in Watonga, Oklahoma. I started my education career in Kindergarten as a Watonga Eagle. I was very fortunate to be able to complete my education in one school. I graduated from high school in 1987.
In the fall of 1987 I attended Central State Univerisity, which is now the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. I completed two years at CSU and then the love bug bit me. I became engaged (and later married) to Terry Bergner. The distance between Weatherford and Edmond was just to long so I transfered to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
After completing my elementary education degree, I went on to complete my Master's degree in Reading Specialist. I also have my Early Childhood certification.
Things I have done since college: been a substitute teacher, taught first grade, owned my own pre-school, worked as an elementary career counselor for a School-to-Work grant, become a mom 3 times.
I have been married to Terry for 28 years. He is the plant manager at Bar-S Foods in Lawton, OK. We have 3 sons. Wakley, a 2013 Marlow graduate, a college student and graduate assistant football coach at Elgin High School. Wyatt, a 2018 Marlow graduate, will be attending college NWOSU in Alva, OK on a baseball scholarship. Will is a freshman at Marlow High School.
During the summer I stay busy volunteering at Duncan Regional Hospital 2 days a week. I volunteer at the front desk of the hospital and at the cancer center.
I am now in my 14th year as a Marlow Outlaw 2nd grade teacher.
