I am a 2020 graduate of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Oklahoma. I majored in Music Education with piano emphasis and minored in Liberal Arts. I graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Bachelor of Arts in Music
PK-12 Vocal/General Music Certification
I have been a member of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Student National Education Association, and Kappa Delta Pi – an international education honor society.
The 2020-2021 school year is my first as a Marlow Outlaw. I will be teaching Elementary General Music.
This will be my first teaching position. Earlier this year, I completed my student teaching experiences under the mentorship of Mrs. Crystal Wyatt at Pioneer Public School and Mr. Landon Lewis at Alex High School. Prior to that I completed one year of observation and clinical experiences under several teachers in Chickasha and the surrounding areas.
During my college career, I gained experience teaching and collaborating at every grade level. I have taught General Music for grades K-7 and directed choir for grades 5-12. I have been an ensemble member of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band and the Oklahoma All-Collegiate Honor Chorus. Additionally, I have experience conducting choir and band at the collegiate level, an opportunity given to few undergraduates in Oklahoma.
I grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma and moved to southwest Oklahoma to go to school. I loved it so much that I stayed! I now live in Chickasha with my sister, Leslie.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy running, reading, playing piano, and watching Disney movies (Tangled and Frozen are my favorites). I am an active member of First Baptist Church of Chickasha where I serve in the youth and music ministries.
