This will be my 6th year at Marlow High School and Marlow High School is a fantastic place to be!
I began teaching in 1997 in Beaver, OK. During my time there, I taught middle school science, HS Biology, Physical Science, Health, and also coached the offseason program for athletes. In addition to my teaching duties, I was also the boys and girls cross country coach and high school cheer coach.
In 2002, my family and I moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where we worked with the Bartlesville school district for 4 years. I taught middle school science.
In 2007, I began working with Dewey Public Schools and taught Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Psychology, and Meteorology. It was during this time I finished up my masters in school counseling.
Some of my favorite teaching experiences include implementing an annual science fair for the Beaver school district, continuing that work with the Bartlesville school district, and implementing the Meteorology program at Dewey High School. Also, while in Dewey, I was able to help secure a grant that allowed us to transform our greenhouse into an aquaponics system that has become a classroom resource for all PK-12th and our agricultural program.
I am married to Eddie Herchock who is the elementary PE teacher and also assistant high school football and baseball coach here at Marlow.
We have three children; Erin who is a graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma and is an elementary teacher at Perkins-Tryon Elementary School; Erin is married to Wyatt Bergner, who is a Marlow alumni and currently in physical therapy school. Nolan, a senior at East Central University studying Kinesiology/Exercise Science Education and a member of the ECU Tigers baseball team; and Naton, or “Nate,” who is a sophomore at Northern Oklahoma College and a member of the NOC Jets baseball team.
When I am not at work, I enjoy reading and working puzzles. However, most of my time is spent chasing my family around to their activities which I also love!
