7th Grade Literature
I graduated from Fort Gibson High School in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. I also earned my undergraduate degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and my graduate degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from NSU and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Cameron. I am certified to teach English grades 5-8 and Special Education (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) grades PK-12 in the great state of Oklahoma.
As of the 2018-2019 school year, this is my fourteenth year as an educator. I have been with Marlow Public Schools since the 2015-2016 school year. I currently teach 7th grade Language Arts.
Prior to becoming a Marlow Outlaw, I taught at Schrade Middle School in the Garland Independent School District of Texas for seven years and at Horace Mann Elementary and Mark Twian Elementary in the Duncan Public School system for three years.
I’m originally from Fort Gibson, which was the first town in Oklahoma! It is located in Northeastern Oklahoma and at one point in history, it was the furthest point of civilization west of the Mississippi river. It’s a neat town and if you haven’t ever visited, you should go! I have been married to Greg Travis, who is a Marlow native, since 2001. Our daughter, McKenna, is an 8th grader and our son, Ethan, is a 5th grader. Both are Marlow Outlaws just like their dad, which is a source of tremendous pride for him. We have two dogs and love living out in the country. Our daughter enjoys playing in the band, showing pigs and being an active Girl Scout. Our son is an avid ball player, who stays busy year round plaing baseball and basketball. They keep us very busy!
If I’m not teaching or planning new ideas to try out in the classroom, you will probably find me out enjoying nature on a walk at a state park, shopping, reading, or cooking.
