August of 2008 marks the official start date of my career in education, but my unofficial career beginning is August of 2004. In the fall of 2004, I became a freshman at Cameron University and also a member of the national AmeriCorps program. As an AmeriCorps member, I served 1,800 volunteer hours in the Duncan Public Schools System, specifically Duncan Middle School, where I tutored, mentored, and coached while completing my freshman and sophomore year of college.
After completing my AmeriCorps service, I went on to graduate from Cameron University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in May 2008. In August 2008, I joined Duncan Public Schools as an English teacher and tennis coach. My career at Duncan included teaching 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English. After six years of teaching English at Duncan, I decided to take the next year to focus and spend time with my daughter. I cherish my year at home with my daughter because I got to be a full-time mother to her.
In the fall of 2015, I rejoined the world of education at Marlow Public Schools where I currently teach Senior English and Journalism. I have a passion for education, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with others while also learning daily from students, co-workers, and peers.
Family is a very important part of my life. I am married to my bestfriend Eddie Wilson, and we have a beautiful daughter named Greenley who loves being a little Marlow Outlaw. As a family we love to fish, to ride fourwheelers, and to participate in any other actvities that mean spending time together outside.
