Advanced Placement College Board Training for AP Studio Art, Tulsa
I began my first year of teaching at Marlow High School in the fall of 2013. There is a great deal of pride in this small town and I hope to bring pride to the artistic abilities and accomplishments of our students! I currently teach three different classes: Art 1, Art 2, and Ceramics.
Prior to working at Marlow, I taught 9 years for Comanche Public Schools. I began my first year of teaching there in 2004 after graduating college. I some great experiences while being employed there. I worked with students to submit Advanced Placement art portfolios and had about a 66% pass rate. Believe it or not, that is successful for the extremely rigorous AP exams. Some of the most beautiful student artwork I have seen has been from the curriculum of that course. We also took a trip to France and Italy with the art and French students to tour European art museums focusing on a majority of works of the Rennaissance. Major cities wer Paris, Milan, Florence, and Rome. This trip, along with church mission work, has led me into 9 foreign countries that have left many unique impressions and experiences on my life and relate often to my teaching experiences.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, photography, gardening/landscaping, and remodeling properties. I am trying to get experience with owning and managing rental properties. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Sarah and daughter Layla who is 10.
