I am a native Texan, born in Amerillo, who moved to Oklahoma my seventh grade year. We moved to the wonderful town of Duke, the place I graduated from. After a stay at college I spent time in the US Army both overseas and in the states working in the medical field. I was blessed to have seen much of the world and meet many interesting and wonderful people I had always desired to someday return to Oklahoma. That opportunity came with Marlow Public Schools; which was a blessing. It is something I am very thankful for.
I had been aware of Marlow for many years. My sister Debbie moved to Marlow many years prior with her young daughters Kim (CU)(Nurse for Haliburton) and Rebekah (CU)(Special Education Teacher Velma) who are both graduates of Marlow. My younger sister Jan's (TNS) (Duncan Regional Hospital Nurse) three boys Quinton, John, and Micheah continued the Outlaw way with John and Micheah graduating from Marlow. Quinton (CU)(working in the Mental Health Field in Duncan) has a daughter Abigale and a young son Simon. Micheah (OU)(Legal Aid) in Oklahoma City and his brother John (Orthopedic field), who has a son Ben, lives in Dallas. My Niece Kim's two children, 12th grade Lily and 4th grade Lincoln are Marlow students and Rebekah's children Emma, Addison, and Nathan goes to Velma. Even greater is that my 87 and 86 years old Father and Mother have lived in the Marlow Community for years.
My Mother's family originally came from Idabel than settled in first Gould than Hollis Oklahoma and Father's family owned a farm near Dodson Texas on the southeastern edge of the Texas panhandle. They are large farm families with Mother's family having twelve children and Father's family six. My older sister Debbie is living in the Velma area and retired from Bancfirst in Duncan, Jan may younger sister has worked nineteen years at Duncan Regional Hospital and presently the Human Resource Nurse. My younger brother Wilson Jr. lives in Collinsville TX and retired after 34 yrs. from UPS and my older brother Stephen works as a Commercial DOT over the road truck driver.
As I stated we lived in Duke, Oklahoma and our family lived and worked on the farm. I feel lucky to have been a part of that community and I am proud to be a Duke Tiger. I enjoyed VoAg, FFA, Basketball, Baseball, Plays, and for that matter school in general. After graduations I completed my AA Degree from WOSC in Altus, then had taken the next step going to SWOSU in Weatherford. After college in 1980 I went into the US Army Medical Corp working as a Medical and Psychiatric Specialist. My Military training was at the Academy of Health Sciences and Audie Murphy VA in San Antonio, TX. I than spent time in Europe being stationed in Stuttgart, Germany 5th General Hospital for a year and a half and than in the States at Ft. Ord in Monterey, CA 7th Army Hospital for two years . Lastly I spent two years with the Army Reserves in Mesquite, Texas at the Dallas VA Hospital. In total spending six great years in the service with my Honorable Discharge on April 18, 1986.
After successfully working in the business and medical fields for a time I felt that a BS from LeTourneau University, a private Christian School, in Business Management might help me become more successful. Yet over time I continued to have a desire and drive to go back into education, although at SWOSU I had went towards the education field without completing it. Thus, after a time I wanted to pursue that desire again. In doing so I completed my educational Teaching Certification and graduate degrees at Texas A&M University-Commerce Texas gaining both M.Ed. and MS degrees. I worked as a Teacher, Principal, Dean of Students and Director in many areas K-12. All of those experiences have helped me grow as a professional educator and as a person. I hope to always continue to learn in the field of education.
I am married to Binki (attained Radford University); she is my Southern Bell from Virginia. She presently is the Lower Elementary School Secretary at Marlow and is full time at holding the family together. I have been given the blissing to be a father to three great children: Liv a Vocational Agricultural/FFA Teacher in Frisco, TX (Texas A&M '06) who is married to Aaron Assistant Principal at Aubrey High School who is working on his Educational Doctorate Degree (Texas A&M '05 & Texas A&M-C ‘16). They are parents to our grandchildren 7 years old Griffin and 4 years old Reese, Luke is a Self Employed in the Computer Science Field in Austin, TX (Texas A&M '11) and is married to Quincy the VP of Finance at Consero Consulting Global LLC and is the Lead Vocal for the band called A-Town GetDown (Texas A&M '13); also they have a new daughter Spencer, and Dylan is our artist and youngest working at Main Event Entertainment in Frisco, TX (Texas A&M-C '17). I am blessed to have each of them. Binki and I, as most parents, are so very proud of our children.
Yes! we have more Aggies, a cousin Gregg who holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Chemistry (Texas A&M '87 & '92) and a nephew Josh with a degree in Agriculture Management (Texas A&M '11). If you see a theme here it is because Binki's Grandfather Col. Paul Stephens (Fight'n Texas Aggie class of '39) a WWII hero now flying in heaven loved his school. Col. Stephens retired both from the Air Force and Texas A&M and set our sights towards Aggie Land. His two brothers (James Texas A&M '37 and Tom '42) as himself joined The Corps of Cadets, the armed services and proud Texas Aggies.
It was my hope to someday have the opportunity to return to Oklahoma. And now I presently have lived five years in the community and hold a wonderful placement at Marlow Public Schools. What a great community, kids, and school. Most of my extended family lives in the Marlow area and I hope to be here for many years to come. I am proud to have become a Marlow Outlaw and believe I am in one of the best schools in America. You have a great community and wonderful children. Thank you
